This policy describes how The Working handles your information. It is provided in good faith and in plain language.

Who we are

The Working ("we", "us") operates the website at theworking.app and the self-directed practice tool available there. The service is provided by Aura Obscura Limited, a company incorporated in Hong Kong, contactable through our contact page.

Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account, our authentication provider (Memberstack) collects your name and email address, and stores your login credentials and membership status.
Payment information. If you subscribe, payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number; Stripe provides us only with limited details such as your subscription status and the last four digits of your card.
Practice content. Notes, intentions, and session records you choose to save are stored against your account so your history is available to you.
Dispatches. If you choose to "share as a dispatch," the note and the first name on your account are published publicly on the community page.
Usage and device data. We use Google Analytics, the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, and the Reddit Pixel, which collect standard analytics and advertising data such as pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type, and interactions, typically via cookies and similar technologies.

How we use your information

To provide the service, authenticate you, and maintain your practice history.
To process subscriptions, trials, and renewals.
To operate the public community dispatches feature when you opt in.
To understand usage and improve the site.
To measure and deliver advertising through Meta, and to analyse traffic through Google.

Third-party services

We rely on the following processors, each governed by its own privacy policy: Memberstack (accounts and authentication), Stripe (payments), Meta (advertising pixel), Google (analytics), Reddit (advertising pixel), and Netlify (hosting). We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies and tracking

We and our providers use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, analytics, and advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect login and some functionality. Where required by law, we will seek your consent for non-essential cookies.

Data retention

We keep account and practice data for as long as your account is active, and as needed to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes. You may ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR or the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to opt out of targeted advertising. Security

Account, payment, and analytics data are handled by established third-party providers using industry-standard safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

The Working is intended for adults aged 18 and over and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above, and continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
