somatic technology for lasting change

Most practices ask you to think your way through it.
This one doesn't.

The Working combines connected breathwork, bilateral eye tracking, binaural entrainment, and sigil work into a single self-directed session. Each technology has a mechanism. Together they reach what words alone cannot.

required for the practice to work
headphones
Required, not optional
Binaural beats are produced by playing two different tones — one in each ear. Without headphones the tones merge and the beat frequency is not produced. The entrainment does not occur.
large screen
Strongly recommended
The bilateral tracking dot covers more of your visual field on a larger screen. Greater coverage means greater working memory load — the mechanism that loosens held patterns. A phone screen produces a weaker effect.

A self-directed ritual instrument

The Working is a somatic instrument built around four documented physiological mechanisms — altered CO₂ levels, working memory load, brainwave entrainment, and altered-state encoding. The session acts on the nervous system directly, producing the conditions that neuroplasticity and reconsolidation research identifies as necessary for lasting change. The thinking mind can understand a pattern for years without the body releasing it. The Working creates the state in which release becomes possible.

01
Connected breathwork

Conscious connected breathing alters blood CO₂ levels and shifts autonomic balance. A controlled, reversible change in body chemistry that opens the system to what it has been organising itself around.

02
Bilateral eye tracking

Following a moving target while holding emotionally charged material taxes working memory — the same dual-attention principle used in EMDR. With attention divided, the pattern has less room to run its usual loop.

03
Binaural entrainment

Tones tuned to theta, alpha, or gamma — one in each ear — produce a beat the brain tends to follow. Headphones are required. A larger screen deepens the bilateral effect. Each mode uses a different target frequency matched to its intended state.

04
Sigil work

Your intention is encoded into a symbol and charged through the session. The mechanism is state-dependent encoding — the nervous system learns through felt experience, not language.

the three modes

Choose based on what you are working with today

journey
theta · 6 hz · open

Enter without a target. Theta waves at 6 Hz support the hypnagogic threshold — where material the body has been holding begins to find form without being summoned. Receive what surfaces.

transmute
alpha · 10 hz · release

Name the pattern precisely — the specific belief or memory underneath the label, not the label itself. Alpha waves at 10 Hz, bilateral tracking, and breathwork work on that charge. The reconsolidation window that follows is where the shift takes hold.

invoke
gamma · 40 hz · encode

State what is already true. Gamma waves at 40 Hz reach the same hypnagogic threshold Neville Goddard called SATS — produced through breathwork rather than the edge of sleep. The felt sense encodes differently from the picture.

These are normal. They pass.

Conscious connected breathing reliably alters blood chemistry and nervous system state. The following effects are expected and temporary — they are signs the practice is working, not signs of danger.

Tingling or vibration in the hands, face, or body
Lightheadedness or a floating sensation
Waves of emotion — grief, release, or euphoria
Involuntary muscle contraction in the hands (tetany)
Temporary altered states of consciousness
These pass when the breath returns to normal

Full contraindications are presented before every session. Practice seated or lying down. Do not use while driving.
